The stg Project Division concentrates solely on the more complex shipments – many of which have never been attempted before!
Any complex movement is regarded as a project, managed throughout by a Senior Project Manager, from the very start to the absolute finish. His role is to establish the basic criteria, analyse and research all the possible options in depth, before determining the optimum method and route. Once this has been decided and the project is live, supervise throughout, including on site attendance where needed, through to a successful conclusion.
Drawing also on the skills and background of his colleagues, the ability to integrate road, sea, river, rail and air – in any combination – is unique. We never look to the obvious answer; we always enjoy investigating the less conventional solution. The three key words in our vocabulary are Innovation, Experience and Commitment.
Innovation
Exploring new methods and routes whilst, at one and the same time, remembering the tried and tested options. On this score, we are not influenced by any representation or agency agreements. Operating in a strictly neutral capacity, gives the stg Project Team the freedom to think the unthinkable.
Experience
From the latest arrival to the longest serving Project Manager, the combined experience of the stg Project Team is now approaching 300 years – together with the immense amount of data, collated and accumulated over time, puts stg in a unique position, to the benefit of all customers, both near and far.
Commitment
The personal commitment of everyone within stg to ensure that everything humanly possible is done to complete every project successfully – delivered safely, on time and to budget.
Having said that, when problems inevitably arise, it is important to have a Plan B. This is when the expertise of stg comes to the fore, initiating changes which minimise the consequences and impact of the event – above all else keeping the customer informed on a reliable and timely basis.
Whether it is a multiple trailer movement – our record stands at 424 – or a multiple discipline shipment – involving perhaps road, sea and rail – you can be sure that the members of stg Project Division will dedicate their efforts towards the best possible result, sometimes in the most challenging of circumstances.
