A rare sight, but becoming increasingly common. Not too many years ago, if you wanted to protect cargo on a specialist trailer during transport, tarpaulin sheeting was the order of the day. Needless to say, this had its limitations – with the only other option being to case pack the cargo, at a prohibitive cost.
In recent years, a new breed of trailer has come on the market – one equipped with a permanent but adjustable frame, capable of being increased in both height and width.
Here seen loading near Oxford, prior to the protective sheet being fitted, the photograph shows one of two helicopters on route to the spa town of Bad Voslau, in southern Austria. Needless to say, despite the road & weather conditions along the way, the helicopters arrived in immaculate condition.
